Inverness Village, Palmetto Dunes

Welcome to Inverness Village located in Palmetto Dunes Plantation on Hilton Head Island in sunny South Carolina!

Palmetto Dunes Plantation is a private gated residential community. Located on the George Fazio golf course, our rental condo provides a view of lagoons in both the front and the rear.

Amenities include swimming pool, clay tennis courts, lagoons for fishing and canoeing or kayaking and bike rentals. Palmetto Dunes has an eleven mile lagoon running throughout the area; many small lagoons dot the landscape and provide avenues for fishing and crabbing. Just watch for the alligators!

All of the lagoons are inter-connected and provide a safe haven for a wide variety of wildlife including turtles, blue crabs, alligators, fish and a wide variety of birds (herons are especially common.)

Although we are a pet friendly vacation rental, please make sure to keep your pets safe by not letting them in or near the edge of the water as alligators have been known to lunge from the lagoons and take small cats and dogs.

Each of the villages within Palmetto Dunes includes an outdoor swimming pool and lounge area and Inverness Village is no exception. When not enjoying the sun and warm waters of the Atlantic ocean, many people spend time soaking up the sun at the swimming pool, literally a two minute walk from our condo.

Available for rent throughout the year (monthly during the winter months from October through March, inclusive and weekly during the summer months of April through September, inclusive), our condo is a full featured unit which can comfortably sleep up to six people.

The condo is a two-bedroom, two bath unit which also features a kitchen, laundry area, living room and dining room. Up to four people can sleep in the two bedrooms with a sleeper sofa providing space for an additional two people. Bed linens typically are provided, however towels should be brought from home.

The master bedroom, located on the second floor, includes a walk in closet and private bathroom. The bedroom, overlooking the Fazio Golf Course is bathed in sunlight by the skylights and high-mounted windows.

Bed linens are cleaned and provided for weekly rentals during the summer months. For snow-birds staying during the winter months, the linens are provided, however the linens are to be cleaned by the renter.

The living room area has a walk out porch which provides a view of the 11th hole on the Fazio Golf Course and the lagoon which provides a canoe and kayak path through Palmetto Dunes. The brackish waters of the lagoon, rich in nutrients, are home to some of the largest alligators on the island, sometimes measuring thirteen feet or more in length.

A sliding glass door provides access to not only the back porch but also to the warmth of the southern sun. Summer high temperatures in Hilton Head Island average about 90°F with most rainfall occuring in the late afternoons or evenings.

Located just off the living room, the dining area has the same views of the Fazio Golf Course as the living area and provides ample room for up to six people. The kitchen is readily accessible through the small window through which meals can easily be served.
